Pre-trial therapy is available to those who need coping strategies and emotional support prior to going to court.
This is a short term therapy which does not explore the direct experience of the victim or survivor but focuses on the impact of the sexual violence and how they are coping with day-to-day life.
The police are informed if pre-trial therapy takes place as notes can be requested by the court and used as evidence. For this reason we ensure that nothing takes place in pre-trial therapy which could negatively impact on court proceedings or the victims and survivors themselves.
Once court proceedings have ended our main counselling services are available for support with the deeper trauma relating to experiencing sexual violence.

“Counselling at CRASAC has had a massive impact on my life. I wouldn’t have been able to go through the court case or deal with the aftermath without it. CRASAC became my safe place, the only place I could go and talk about anything because I knew I wouldn’t be judged, that it was safe and that I would be listened to. ”
